Skating + Mojito

If you drink, don't drive... somebody said it...

But are rollers a vehicle? We don't drive, we skate, we almost glide... so it cannot be the same... ;-)

This last Friday was hilarious!

We did a different kind of inline skating route... An alternative one.

It could be called as The Mojito Inline Skating Route.

We live the freedom on the roller-skates.

What we did? As every Friday we started the route at noon, flied over the streets, felt the air on our skin and finished in a bar... More a pub than a bar. So the Mojito was served and... Drink it, it wasn’t a problem... Relax. Freedom. Happiness. These are some moments that you must remember when you are in a blue mood. When everything is going wrong... Think that flashes that make feel you alive.

Skating is like a drug, it can be very addictive. I like to compare it with that scene of Titanic when DiCaprio was in the end of the ship (bow or stern, I don’t know)... with his opened arms ... Feeling.... I don’t know what he was feeling... but I feel that I’m alive! And that’s a great experience! It’s like the World was yours....

Finishing this kind of route chatting with your skate-mates that have the chance to feel more or less the same as you and... drinking not a coke, not a beer, just a mojito... It’s the best way to start the weekend. Don’t you think so?

Don’t be panic.... We will not be on the route again until mojito is near the feet...I can promise you...because... Skaters Like Life Too Much!!

Suffering from “Holiday Blues”??

Or... "BACK TO SCHOOL!"... uff!!

Here some (official) reccomendations that I’ve found:

Summarizing them (in my style)...

I would say that...

The 10 commandments are:

1) Try to take a day off before you go back: You need at least one day of 100% relax.

2) Go to bed early the night before: Like a child, so go to bed before the TV News

3) Leave in plenty of time: Arrive before the boss, so he will believe that you are veeeeery relaxed and full of energy! (well...no comments)

4) Don’t try to do too much on your first day back: Today, the effort will be remember the password to switch on the PC.

5) Check your work has been done: Your workmates did what you tell them to do? (This is easy, isn't it?)

6) Call your key contacts to let them know you are back: Well... I would recommend you that don’t hurry advising them that you’re ready.... Take a breath!

7) Use it as a catch up period: Put the papers in order... from one pile to another one... and so on...

8) Tell people about your holiday when they are all together: Yes!! You can do it! (And if you want, you can invent them too) But wait until the coffee time... (if you can wait... you will be a crack!)

9) Take advantage of feeling refreshed and invigorated: This means that you should start for the difficult and boring things... well... it’s up to you! If you are able...

10) Book another holiday: I absolutely agree! :-)

¿¡ Holidays !?

I’m so sad... I’m living my last day before returning to work after barely two weeks of holidays. And I’m saying holidays because this is the most common noun to explain the condition that we live when we aren’t going at work... So, it isn’t necessary mean that you are travelling, enjoying of doing-nothing or sunbathing.

What should “Holidays” mean?? Holidays should imply only all these that has been said. In fact, “Holidays” should only mean RELAX. Yes! You’re right, exactly the opposite of STRESS! So, I’m not sure that when someone travels is going to enjoy a bit of tranquillity. I know, I know...this is also going to depend on the facilities as well as the destination. Not being exactly the same travelling with a package tour, being a globetrotter or a back-packer or any other way of travelling that you are thinking in…. Anyway, either one way of travelling or other, it’s someone’s decision and we have to pressupose that it’s the perfect one.

But, what does it happen if you take advantage of this 24-hours-leisure-time just to finish that things that during the year you haven’t got enough time??? That shouldn’t be taked in account as “Holidays”. Don’t you think so? Well, anyway this has been my situation this year.... And I’ve been more stressed in my ¡¿holidays?! than during the rest of the year. Although, I also could say.... Everybody has what deserves.... Who knows? ;-)

Not wanting more tears of victimism, I must say that I’ve enjoyed of Two-Real- Holidays-Days. Not travelling, not stressing, just enjoying of my city... I will tell you the secret...

I strongly recommend you, if you have only very few days of holidays or a sad budget or any other kind of situation.... You can wander about the streets of your city, buy a newspaper, sit in a Coffee and just read the newspaper and enjoy of your black strong coffee.... With sugar or without sugar, this isn’t the question :-)

My first steps...

I am starting this blog not being very convinced of my fidelity in it. In fact, just 4 days ago I was saying that I already had my personal Diary, and nothing could be replaced by a pen and a notebook with white sheets.

But look at me, I’m in front of my PC writing some lines. Let’s see how long I’m capable to be persistent with the New Diary of the XXI Centuary.

Well, I must confess something…. Probably you would expect, that if I’m Catalan, I should write in Catalan or at least in Spanish, but I’m going to take advantage of this media to put my English skills in practice. You know, I’ve always time for changing the language, but for the moment, this is going to be the purpose.

What would it happens if in a short term I was converted into a real addict of blogs? Who knows? But until this isn’t going to happen I still have on my bedside table my Beautiful Notebook where the emotions, the dreams, the illusions & disillusions are written. Until now, this has been a Must: All of them can be only expressed when I’m in bed, very often after midnight and always listening to music... relaxing music, chill out, or comfortable voices like Leonard Cohen. But times are changing...

Finally, I wouldn’t like to be a slave of my own purpose... so don’t expect of myself a regularity... Writing by impulses is the only way when the words can flow.
